Masters Veteran Rowing
If you finished your rowing career a few years back, concentrated on climbing the corporate ladder or raising the family, but now feel the pull of the river, the KRC veteran squad may be just what you need.
This section of the club currently boasts competitors from 27 years to well above 60.
It is a very successful branch of the club, having returned from last years world meeting in Zagreb,Croatia with 21 medals with wins in all boat types from 1x to 8+.
We frequently have representatives in the first eights for both the men’s and the women’s Head of the River, as well as eights entered for the all too often cancelled Veteran Heads.
The club sends crews to Master's Nationals at Nottingham in June, Master's Henley in July and the World FISA meet in whichever the chosen country is in September.
We also try to support and put large entries into the local events at Kingston Small Boats, Kingston Head and Kingston Regatta, Richmond, Twickenham, Walton and Molesey, all being within easy reach!
We expect a significant number of wins.
As the club is operating an inclusive policy, we have had the benefit of training with the senior squad under a very proficient coaching team.
We are always looking to expand the group and welcome newcomers.
There is an opportunity to do as much training as you want, but also the benefit of being able to take a weekend off for less vigorous activities, without the risk of being dropped.
If you are considering getting back into a boat and rekindle the old competitive spirit, please contact Birgith via email or leave a message in the club letter rack.
