Squad Objectives

The KRC Junior Squad aims to provide a supportive and friendly environment in which Juniors can meet new friends and develop both their personal and rowing potential.

The squad is a racing squad and aims for all juniors to train for and compete at appropriate Head races or Regatta races with crews being selected to ensure all targets are realistic and achievable

The squad therefore enters a range of Head and Regatta races the most important of which are:

  • School's Head of the River
  • The Scullery

  • National School's Regatta
  • Henley Royal Regatta

Representative Junior Crews:

All squad members will be assessed for inclusion in crews participating in the Thames London Region Trials for inclusion in that team for the Junior Inter Regional Championships.

In addition Kingston RC Junior Policy is to identify any outstanding individual talent that may be of the standard to participate in selection trials for the British Junior International teams selected each year from J16-18 year groups. This identification will be made from the J15 year onwards. International teams included are the Great Britain Junior team, the Coupe De Jeunesse and the GB France match
